where β = 1 2g and g is the continuum gauge coupling. We will keep b = β N fixed as N goes to infinity, and this amounts to setting gN = 1 2b . The reduced model on the lattice has a [U(1)] symmetry. The Eguchi-Kawai argument for reduction holds only if the [U(1)] symmetry remains unbroken [3]. This is not the case as b → ∞ [4]. This problem is resolved by defining the quenched reduced model [4] where the eigenvalues of Uμ,

It is well known that, in Landau gauge, the renormalization function of the ghost-ghost-gluon vertex Z 1 (p 2) is finite and constant, at least to all orders of perturbation theory. On the other hand, a direct non-perturbative verification of this result using numerical simulations of lattice QCD is still missing. Here we present a preliminary numerical study of the ghost-ghost-gluon vertex and...

We compute the electromagnetic form factor of the pion using non-perturbatively O(a) improved Wilson fermions. The calculations are done for pion masses down to 400 MeV and for lattice spacings of 0.07 – 0.11 fm. We check for finite size effects by repeating some of the measurements on smaller lattices. The large number of lattice parameters we use allows us to extrapolate to the physical point...

Numerical simulations of full QCD on anisotropic lattices provide a convenient way to study QCD thermo-dynamics with fixed physics scales and reduced lattice spacing errors. We report results from calculations with 2-flavors of dynamical fermions where all bare parameters and hence the physics scales are kept constant while the temperature is changed in small steps by varying only the number of...
